CHA is pleased to announce the release of the 2025 Edition of A Guide for Planning & Reporting Community Benefit. The Guide, updated with new resources, provides a comprehensive framework for nonprofit health care organizations to develop and strengthen their strategic approach to assessing, planning, implementing, and reporting community benefit.

Community Benefit 101: Planning and Reporting Nonprofit Hospital Community Benefit
Oct. 21, 22, 23 
2 to 5 p.m. ET each day

CHA's highly regarded Community Benefit 101 provides the fundamentals and federal requirements of community benefit programming. This virtual program is taught by experienced community benefit leaders. Topics covered include the importance of the organization's community benefit mission, public policy, what counts as community benefit, community health needs assessment and implementation strategies, program planning and evaluation, accounting principles and communicating the organization's community benefit story. 

Attendees will receive a copy of CHA's 2025 Edition of A Guide for Planning & Reporting Community Benefit. 


The American Hospital Association is a sponsor of CB 101 and AHA members are eligible for a discounted registration fee.

CBISA Turns 30!

Thirty years ago, Lyon Software took on the challenge of developing a software platform to help nonprofit health care organizations track and report community benefit. From that vision, CBISA™ (Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability) was born. CHA is grateful for our longstanding partnership with Lyon Software.
